Kidney Diseases
The department of kidney disease provides comprehensive service for clinical care
of kidney patients and is geared to handle haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous
ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation. For precise diagnosis
of kidney diseases, latest diagnostic facilities are available which include equipment
for Bio- chemical, Immunological, Serological, Radiological and Histopathological
studies.
Haemodialysis facilities
PSRI has a multi-station modern
dialysis center where very senior and experienced kidney specialists conduct dialysis
with the latest computerized machines. There is a special monitoring facility for
dialysis patients with heart and lung diseases. A comfortable waiting area is also
available for the convenience of the relatives of dialysis patients.
Peritoneal Dialysis
Complete facilities exist to conduct
continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). Patients and their relatives can
also be trained in CAPD, so that they can conduct the procedure in the comfort of
their homes.
Isolation Haemodialysis for Infected Patients.
In order to prevent the spread
of Hepatitis B, a separate area is provided to patients infected with hepatitis
B and requiring dialysis.
